Timbral Experiments

Some analysis resynthesis experiments. Analyses were done with SPEAR, then imported into Common Lisp, manipulated and resynthesized using CLM.

Harp and bell

A kind of crude (but effective) cross synthesis between a low harp tone and a bell. The harp is heard in the attack which then cross fades into the bell and then eventually returns to the harp at the end of the decay.

Harp frequency shifting progression

The partials of a medium register harp tone are frequency shifted (some partials up, some down) in a stepwise sequence.

Harmonic gong progression

The partials of a gong strike are progressively retuned to a harmonic series. Each step of the sequence gets closer to the final harmonic retuning.
